The former Guns n' Roses guitarist sounds like he's all but begging to play. Sad, or...?

First off, let me just say that I love Slash. I have been a Guns n' Roses fan for 25 years. I think Slash is enormously talented and he's pretty intelligent under that mop of hair, but this latest statement kind of sounds like he is begging to play.

Earlier this month, Slash said that Guns n' Roses will not be performing at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in April, but that doesn't mean that he doesn't want to play. He says that he'd "love to play" but knows it's one of those things that isn't going to happen. Even though he has expressed his extreme displeasure with stuffy formal affairs, "it would be cool to play". He even said that he doesn't know if any of the original GNR line up will even be there because they haven't talked to each other in a very long time.

Guns n' Roses is joining Red Hot Chili Peppers, Donovan, Faces/Small Faces, The Crickets and others among the acts that will be formally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 14.
