Two classic rockers will receive 2013 Kennedy Center Honors in Washington D.C. this December. Carlos Santana and Billy Joel were named as part of the group of five new honorees.
A mini-Santana reunion took place last night (Aug. 28) when Carlos Santana and Gregg Rolie sat in with Journey. The concert took place at the Pearl Theater at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Santana's debut album in 1969 which produced two signature songs, "Evil Ways" and "Soul Sacrifice" was released at the same Santana made an appearance at Woodstock.
Earlier this week Neal Schon spilled the beans about him working again with Carlos Santana, who gave the future Journey guitarist his start. Now, we have learned that the project is actually a reunion of the original Santana lineup.
It's been more than 40 years since Neal Schon left Santana to form the band that would become Journey. However, a new interview with Schon reveals that he and Carlos Santana have had preliminary talks about a potential new project.
Carlos Santana and his band are going to once again take up residency in Las Vegas. This time it will be at the House of Blues, located in the Mandalay Bay Hotel. The show is titled 'An Intimate Evening With Santana: Greatest Hits Live -- Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. Wow that's quite the title...it kicks off May 2nd.
