St. Cloud Weather

Warmer temperatures will continue all this week with highs 10 to 25 degrees above normal. Highs in the fifties can be expected across Central Minnesota, with sixties possible across the southern part of the state. Minnesota, we deserve it!

Yes it snowed today, and yes it will drop to -10˚ tomorrow morning, but you won't believe your eyes when you see the forecast high temperatures for St. Cloud in the 10-day outlook. Are you ready?

March in Central Minnesota looks like it will be starting off with a fresh coat of snow and strong winds to blow it all around. Winter Weather Advisories & Blizzard Warnings have been issued for tonight & tomorrow for 4-8" of snow, with wind gusts up to 45 mph  -- impacting both Tuesday commutes.

From outdoor enthusiasts to business owners -- this winter's lack of snow has been bad news for many Minnesotans. In fact, it's actually been the third mild winter in a row. Here in St. Cloud, we're 14" below average since December 1st, and 28" below where we were this time last year.

A quick 1-3 inch burst of snow will impact travel across much of central and southeast Minnesota and western Wisconsin today...particularly from the southern Twin Cities Metro east to Eau Claire, and south to Albert Lea.

With 2 to 4 inches expected overnight across Central Minnesota, its time for a reminder that we've gotten off easy so far this season -- with snowfall about 10 inches below average to date this winter.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until Noon today for the possibility of sleet and freezing rain making the morning drive slick. Then another system moves in Saturday night and Sunday bringing a better chance of accumulating snow, with 2 to 4 inches possible in Saint Cloud.

As Minnesotans, we're a hearty lot. We're not deterred by snow, ice, cold, and wind. I like bundling up and going for a run in cold weather, wearing a face mask; being careful to have  little or no skin exposed. Experts caution that these bitter cold temperatures need to be taken seriously.

Central Minnesota is in for a bitterly cold week, with lows in the neighborhood of -15˚, and highs only reaching single-digits below zero. Dangerous wind chills will approach -40˚, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Wind Chill Advisory through Noon on Monday.

Snow across the area could make the trip home from Grandma's house a little tricky tonight & tomorrow. 2-4" of snow (possibly mixed with freezing rain) is expected to fall in the St. Cloud area tonight & Friday morning -- with a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for areas north of St. Cloud.
