2007 was the last time traffic was heavy whether it be by car or air, so most definitely plan ahead.

AAA is predicting over 46 million people to be traveling this year for Thanksgiving, thinking I don't want to deal with that headache. I'm staying home thank you very much.

Here's the scoop so you can stay ahead of the game:

Nine out of 10 will go by car over a 50 mile span.

The average person will travel 549 miles for the Thanksgiving holiday, understandably so since gas prices have dropped. Alright let's hit the road.

It's said the worst time to travel is between 3p and 5p on Wednesday, after all those traveling want to be at their destination by turkey day.

If you can wait til Thanksgiving day itself, that would be the ideal time to hit the road. Traffic will be at a minimum.

The majority will travel back home on the following Saturday, less than 25% will hit the road on Friday.

Overall if you plan ahead you should find traveling with ease and not have to deal so much with the riff raff.

Be careful, safe travels and Happy Thanksgiving.

Now would somebody please the turkey!
