The Cars Featured On 80′s At 8 With, “Just What I Needed” [VIDEO]

“Just What I Needed” got them signed by Elektra Records, after that the rest is history.

Benjamin Orr provided the vocals on this classic, sadly enough he passed away in 2000 of Pancreatic Cancer.

Ric Ocasek wrote the song in his basement at a commune in Newton, Massachusetts where he living at the time.

The 2-track demo recorded by The Cars  became the most-requested song throughout many a rock station in the country.

The Cars evolved from a trio called Milkwood, once becoming The Cars, “Just What I Needed” became the groups  first single.
