Dylan's first album, 'Bringing it All Back Home' (1965) brought us the first sound of folk-rock. His second album was at a whole different level.His second album, 'Highway 61 Revisited' was simply put "totally rocking"

 For the 20th century both albums are equally influential as any music recorded in that era.

The opening lines of "Desolation Row"  refer to the three men who were in town with the circus and  accused of raping a girl  in Duluth, Minnesota. On June 15, 1920, a mob broke them out of jail and lynched them on June 15th, 1920.

Postcards that had pictures of the hanging were sold as souvenirs.
