Two Hurt in Litchfield Crash Involving Transit Bus
LITCHFIELD -- Two people were hurt in a two vehicle crash involving a transit bus. The Minnesota State Patrol says the incident happened around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Sibley Avenue and Depot Street West in Litchfield.
Sgt. Jesse Grabow says the transit bus, driven by 63-year-old Craig Lundin of Litchfield was heading south on Sibley when it stopped for a railroad crossing at Depot Street west.
An SUV driven by 28-year-old Kelsey Halverson of Willmar rear ended the bus at the crossing. The bus had one passenger in it at the time of the crash, 67-year-old Ruthann Blanchette of Litchfield, who was hurt but did not require medical attention.
A passenger in the SUV, three-year-old Peyton Halverson was taken to Meeker Hospital with non-life threatening injuries he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time.
The two other passengers in the SUV were not hurt.
