For the Van Morrison fan, the point of entry for Van Morrison was the 1967 single "Brown Eyed Girl" which would prove to a great start to long and successful career.

"Brown Eyed Girl"  did establish the Irish talent as a solo artist. Like everything else in life there is a starting point and Van got a pretty good boost with the band Them a band out of Ireland. A gritty, hard rocking band one could compare to the likes of The Rolling Stones and The Animals,

The bands run would last two years from 1964 to 1966. That time frame alone would put them in the spotlight and feature Morrison on vocals and harmonica.

Them:

A band that displayed intensity combined with soulful performances, this would prove to be the ticket for a much overlooked band.

Morrison showed us significant signs of his poetic, introspective nature.

This series I will feature the bands most memorable performances.
