Are These the TV Shows Minnesotans Love to Binge Most?
bAcK iN mY dAy...we had to watch episodes of our favorite shows on the ol' idiot box one at a time, week-by-week. If there was an emergency of some sort, the local news would cut in and we'd be S.O.L. for as long as that tornad'r was still spinning down the street (obviously because of all the roundabouts...it's a Loon Morning Show inside joke).
Now that we're out of the Television Dark Ages, we can binge entire series of shows to our heart's content (and possibly, health detriment). So what are the favorite shows of Minnesotans to binge? Today's Question of the Century sought to find out...
The TV Shows Minnesotans Love to Binge the Most
Mike & Molly (2010-2016): starring Billy Gardell and Melissa McCarthy as a couple who meet at Chicago Overeaters Anonymous and fall in love.
Letterkenny (2016-2023): starting out as YouTube shorts before becoming a hit TV show, Letterkenny follows the happenings of residents in the fictional Ontario town of Letterkenny. The full video of the above conversation is below.
The Big Bang Theory (2007-2019): the show follows the adventures of a bunch of mega nerds and a waitress.
Supernatural (2005-2020): starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles (and a black 1967 Chevrolet Impala), this show followed two brothers hunting supernatural beings.
Dexter (2006-2013, 2021-2022): starring Michael C. Hall's eyebrows as a forensic technician who's also a serial killer. Sometimes you've just gotta play both sides...
Chicago Fire/P.D./Med (2012-present/2014-present/2015-present): a trio of dramas that sometimes crossover
That '70s Show (1998-2006): an ensemble sitcom about the lives of six Wisconsin teenagers in the late 1970s.
Battlestar Galactica (1978-1979, 2003-2009): FINALLY SOME SCI-FI. Battlestar Galactica was a military science fiction series set in a distant star system where the Colonies battle the Cylons.
South Park (1997-present): animated sitcom centers around four boys and their adventures based in a fictional Colorado town
Tulsa King (2022-present): a comedy/crime-drama series starring Sylvester Stallone as a Mafia capo fresh out of a New York prison and relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma to set up a criminal organization.
Star Trek: Lower Decks (2020-2024): an adult animated series that is a love letter to the Star Trek franchise, Lower Decks is the franchise's first comedy that follows the misadventures of the U.S.S. Cerritos and its support crew of lower-ranked misfits. I absolutely love this show and hate Paramount Plus for cancelling it.
Beetlejuice (TV series 1989-1991): this cartoon ruled. I watched it as a kid, and I just started watching it with my kid, who absolutely loves it. In the cartoon version of the Beetlejuice franchise, Lydia Deetz and Beetlejuice are besties instead of enemies.
