Winning the lottery is something that some people just dream about.  You know you probably won't win,  but you play anyway because "someone has to win, right"?

Because of this situation, where you buy a lottery ticket, and have some hope for a short time.  But still, you purchased the ticket.  It might have been a Powerball, regular state lottery, scratch offs or whatever.  You took the time to buy a ticket, and this time... YOU WON!  Why wouldn't you claim your money?  I can tell you one thing... that would NOT be me.  I win something, I am 100% going to get the cash.  You do have one year to claim your winnings in Minnesota.  Some of those winning tickets are coming up on that one year mark.

Unless.... did you lose the ticket?  If that is the case, there are quite a few of you out there that have "lost the ticket".  That would be awful.  Up until just recently, the million dollar raffle that happens in Minnesota on January 1 had 2 unclaimed Million dollar winners.  Looking today, I see that one of the winners has finally claimed their prize.  The other ticket was purchased at the Coborn's in Delano, and is still unclaimed.

You can check to see what games have unclaimed prizes on the Minnesota lottery website.  They even have a link for each game so you can check your ticket and see if you are one of the people who have money that is owed to them with a winning ticket.

Besides the million dollars still unclaimed, there are a few tickets that are unclaimed for 50K.  These go back to Jan, March, April and also one that was purchased just this past Saturday .  There is also a 25K ticket that was purchased back in July in Plymouth.

Other than losing your ticket?  Why wouldn't you claim your cash?  You do have a year. So maybe they are waiting until the very last minute?
