Every year, around this time as Easter fluctuates dates from year to year, we start hearing about the (nasty) confection called Peeps.

I have never been a fan of these little things.  But I have heard that if you let them sit for about a year, they are great for making s'mores.  My first thought is this - you can let these things sit for a year without them getting moldy or anything?  Right there that should tell you that they might not be something you should be eating.  But, who wants to let them sit for a year just to see if the theory is correct, and they are great for s'mores?

Even though I have my opinion of these things, and I will abstain as much as possible, they seem to grow in popularity every year.

Look at these stats.  And I am as surprised as I'm guessing you might be.

While everyone has their personal favorites, an analysis of Amazon’s U.S. marketplace from March 28 to April 3, 2022, by Pattern reveals the top three:

  1. Peeps: 22% of sales
  2. Jelly Beans: 21%
  3. Cadbury Eggs: 14%

Peeps is the most popular?????? Well, color me "peepy" or I mean surprised.  But, as I think about this, these stats just mean that they are the most popular candy purchased, doesn't mean that they were actually consumed.

Let's get stats on how many of these things made into someone's mouth and didn't end up in the garbage can.  Just curious.

There is even this, just for your ummm.... enjoyment? I'm "noping" right out of this one.

You know what I also found out about these things?  I found out that they have been around for about 70 years.  70 YEARS!!!  I had no idea.  Only heard about them within the last 20 or so.  Still nasty.
