Sammy Hagar An Open Book For Dr. Drew

The Red Rocker had a  serious sit down with the celebrity doctor Monday. He talked about his rough childhood, aliens and his days with Van Halen.

Dr. Drew's self-titled show kicked off its new season Monday with Sammy Hagar.

Sammy opened up about his rough childhood with an alcoholic father, unstable family life and little money, but he said that all of those circumstances were what propelled him into wanting to change his life.

He also said that one of his goals is to rekindle his friendship with former Van Halen band mate, Eddie Van Halen. Hagar told the good doctor that it broke his heart to watch Eddie on their 2004 tour and he hopes that Eddie can overcome his addiction to alcohol like he overcame his.
