Small Town In Minnesota Honors Graduates in Unique Way
Because of COVID-19, graduation ceremonies have been suspended. But people are getting pretty creative with how they can honor their graduates.
Graduation from high school or college is a big day in a person's life. I feel like high school graduation is a big deal because you may never see a lot of these people again. People who you have grown up with, been in sport and other activities with and will miss after a normal graduation. This was all cut short when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. It's very disappointing.
But, with that said, there has been some creative ways that individuals and entire towns have been celebrating their graduating class.
Wabasha, Minnesota (yes, the Grumpy Old Men town) is doing something pretty cool. They have a small graduation class there. Just 44 people. And guess what... they have 44 street lights down mainstreet. So, they are attaching a picture (flag) congratulating each one on their own street lamp pole. Cool, right?
Now, if you have never been to Wabasha, I suggest you make plans (when we can) to visit this cute little community. It reminds me of a town that you would only see in the movies or on TV shows. One with cute restaurants and shops where you know everyone and you just want to hang out there. They have great town decor during what ever holiday or season it is... and just makes a person feel so at home.
If you have a graduate in your family, or you know of some in your community, what are you doing to honor them? Let us know! We'd love to hear about it!
