I just recently took the written test and missed two out of I believe 38 to 40 questions but no way I would have passed without looking into the manual.

Since I last took a written test many of the road laws and signs and road designs have changed especially with interchanges and roundabouts, etc...

Granted some things are common sense, but the answers are precise so one needs to know exact numbers, i.e., how far behind a school bus are you required to stop when it's loading/unloading kids. Other things like how fast one is allowed to drive in alley's, urban roads etc...

I haven't had a Minnesota drivers license since 2003 so I had to take the test but I studied.
