Let’s be honest here. Sometimes our lawmakers have absolutely no idea what they’re doing. I understand and respect that most laws are in place in order to protect we citizens, but some laws seem to go in a real weird direction for no apparent reason. Today we’re gonna take a look at the most ridiculous laws here in the land of 10,000 lakes.

  1. Married women who commit adultery can be fined up to $3,000 and she and the man she had an affair with can be sentenced to prison.

Holy smokes! Talk about harsh! Cheating is never a cool thing, but this might be a little overboard. Double standard much?

  1. Hitchhiking is illegal

Okay, this one isn’t that weird, but it the right situation it could be rather inconvenient. What if your car broke down on the side of the road and you needed a ride in to town? I can think of a hundred other scenarios where one might need to hitchhike, but we’ll just leave it there. It seems kind of silly to me.

  1. No one can be charged with drunkenness or public intoxication

This might just be my favorite law of all time. The police technically can’t arrest you simply for being drunk or being drunk in public. Can you say “Score”? However, I think the real key to taking advantage of this particular law is to avoid all of the other chargeable offenses once intoxicated. That’s the real trick.
