The Minnesota Timberwolves (39-29) beat the visiting, and defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors (51-16) 109-103 Sunday afternoon at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The Wolves were without Jimmy Butler, while the Warriors played without Steph Curry.

Karl-Anthony Towns led the Wolves in scoring with 31 points. Andrew Wiggins added 23, Jamal Crawford scored 12, and Taj Gibson scored 11. Kevin Durant had 39 points and 12 rebounds for the Warriors.

With the win, the Timberwolves move into fifth place in the Western Conference, just a breath behind fourth place New Orleans. The win also ends Minnesota's three-game losing streak.
