Today is National Candy Corn Day

You know when it's National Candy Corn Day, there's a "day" for everything.

Candy Corn seems like the candy that most people say they can't stand.  But, there is one way that it tastes great.... mix it with peanuts.  It tastes like a salted nut roll.  It's delicious.  Other than that... not so good.  And Candy Corn is like one of the worst candies.  It's solid sugar and other crazy ingredients that are not good for you;

...corn syrup, sugar, water, marshmallows, fondant and carnauba wax (a wax made from the leaves of a palm tree)

I get that a lot of things are bad for you, but this one ranks as one of the worst.

How should you celebrate National Candy Corn Day?  Here are some ideas:

Add the candy to popcorn for a spooktacular treat. Another delicious way to celebrate the day would be to layer gelatin, pudding or cakes with white, yellow and orange colors and flavors. Salty and sweet always pair well together, too. Add pretzels, candy corn, and nuts to a snack mix.

There is always the option to throw that stuff right into the round file, if that's what you feel like doing.  Not going to stop you... but honestly, try it mixed with some salty things as mentioned above.  It's pretty good.
