Being from San Diego it seems flip-flops are part of the daily attire but there are times when flip-flops are a no-no.

I never wear them when driving a manual vehicle because they get caught pushing in the clutch, brake, you get the picture. I mean they can fall off and get wedged under the pedals.

Here's other times to avoid wearing flip-flops, odd I know:

When you're walking your dog.  A study in 2009 found 18,000 different types of bacteria on one pair of flip-flops, including fecal matter.  Your shoes get covered with bacteria too, but just on the outside.

Pretty much anytime you walk a long way, have to run, whatever,  flip-flops cause you to take shorter strides, which means you're likely to fall which can lead to problems with your knees, hips, ankles even your spine.

When you're mowing the lawn,  you should really wear shoes for  any type of yard work.

When cooking because of maybe boiling water, grease splatters, and knives you might drop on your feet, ouch!

Anywhere that's crowded.  Eventually some idiot  will step on your foot.

Just FYI they can be washed, otherwise, they will start to stink, just sayn'.
