Following his own cancer scare, Roger Daltrey is sending out a big thank you to Robert Plant for his help in fighting the disease.

Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend have been working very closely with The UK Teenage Cancer Trust and over the weekend, they announced the launch of the UCLA Daltrey/Townshend Teen and Young Adult Cancer Program, and extension of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Daltrey told Rolling Stone Magazine that Plant has been helping out with the charity for years and he hopes that Plant can influence other artists to come on board and help out just like he did.

Earlier this year, Daltrey spoke of his own cancer scare, but is in fine form now on the road performing Tommy in its entirety and there is talk of a Daltrey/Townshend Quadrophenia Tour in 2012.

Plant, meanwhile is blowing out 40 candles on the Stairway to Heaven birthday cake. OK, I made that part up, but Stairway does turn 40 today.
