It was the lead single from Wildflowers, Petty's second 'solo' album. We say solo with tongue in cheek as the effort featured every member of the Heartbreakers (with the exception of Stan Lynch), as session players.

There are several versions in existence due to the controversial (at the time) line 'Let's roll another joint', which was changed to 'Let's hit another joint', as, according to record execs, that changed the meaning of the line to "visit bars", as opposed to smoke Mary Jane. Other versions had the word 'joint' reversed. The music video won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Male Video the following year, despite his seemingly lackluster performance in it.
