How's everybody's summer going? Keeping busy?
Meet Haylen. Haylen is not your typical 5-year old Canadian. Or maybe he is. I don't know any 5-year old Canadians.
Haylen's parents threw him a "Five for Five" party for his birfday. Guests were asked to bring $5 for Hayden, and then $5 to donate to the charity of Haylen's choice. After receiving $100 to donate to charity (Brainerd math puts that at 20 people), Haylen chose the Ronald McDonald House.
A tour of the place gave Haylen an idea: to set up an ice cream shop and donate the money to buy medicine for kids at the Ronald McDonald House.
With some ice cream donations from neighbors (these Canadians and their donating!), Haylen raised $2,011. Awesome. So he's taking the rest of the summer off, right?
NO (...Canadians...). He set a new goal of $3,009.
And don't go thinking Haylen is all fundraising and no play: he's known to "work" in a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costume.
This kid has life figured out. And that's why he's today's Happy News Over Angry Music Story!
If you want to do more than that, a GoFundMe page was set up to allow donations to be accepted from across North America.
This young man earned himself a feature on Happy News Over Angry Music.
