The amount of time it takes to fall asleep varies for everybody. Working professionals in Minnesota generally sleep better than most in the country for this reason, and it's simple...we are more likely to keep our work at the office and not bring it home.

PR Newswire published a story, named "Sleepless In Miami, Nashville And New York". It's all about how much sleep professionals DON'T get, because of where they work. If you live in those 3 cities, they are at the top for being "chronically underslept".

Many people just can't turn their brain off at night and stop thinking about work-related things. People age 10 to 34 have the biggest problem with this, and men are 10% more likely to have this sleep-depriving anxiety at night.

Thankfully, for whatever reason, those who live in Minnesota, Philadelphia, and Cleveland have the easiest time falling asleep at night, according to their poll of Americans in each state's biggest cities. Minneapolis was the city that got the best sleep out of every other city in the United States.

So how do we keep work out of our heads when we are trying to go to sleep? Michael Steinitz, executive director of Accountemps says:

Work stressors can often follow you home, but try to check them at the door. If you have too much on your plate, schedule time with your manager to discuss possible solutions to alleviate the pressure, such as delegating work to others, adjusting deadlines or bringing in temporary help.

Of course, if you work in radio then all this goes right out the door. You think about your job 24 hours a day and are ALWAYS thinking about what's going to be talked about on your radio show the next day. I guess it's good that we generally work 4-hour on-air shifts, leaving us plenty of time for a little nap during the day!
