If you watched the Grammy Awards recently, you probably saw the ad for notoriously ultra religious and socially conservative fast food chain Chick-fil-A. The music in the ad was Starship's "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now".from 1986.

Grace Slick is probably polar opposite in her beliefs and when first approached about selling the rights to the song, she was totally opposed. Slick considered turning down Chic-fil-A's offer in protest of the company but said she had a better idea.

Slick decided to sell them the song to use in their commercial and then donate money she received from Chick-fil-A to the LGBTQ as an alternative form of protest. If you know anything about Grace Slick, you know she is feisty as hell.

Every dime Grace gets from the song will go to Lamda Legal, the largest national legal organization working to advance the civil rights of LGBTQ people.
