It seems like every major classic rock band has their area of expertise. For Pink Floyd it was political idealism, for Aerosmith it was women, for Rush it was the technical aspect of musicianship, and for Van Halen it was stereotypical rock band drama. But when it comes to MARKETNG there is one band that reigns supreme.

I’m talking about KISS. Now, if I’m being honest, I’m not an enormous KISS fan, although they have a few songs here and there that I dig. No disrespect by any means. Especially towards Paul Stanley. That guys vocal abilities are pretty impressive. But whether or not you like their music, their presence in pop culture is undeniable.

Think of anything, and KISS probably sells a version of it with their faces on it. And they certainly aren’t shy about making TV appearances. Heck, they even had their own Christmas special.

Their most recent appearance, however, was in one of the most beloved cartoons of all time – Scooby Doo. I’ll admit, the Christmas thing was a little lame, but what was once cringe-worthy is now nostalgic and cool.

And I can’t think of anything more fitting for the KISS crew to appear in at this point than Scooby Doo. It’s a show that has had it’s fair share of guest appearances over the years. It manages to bring celebrities onto the show without making it uncool. Maybe it’s just because it’s a cartoon that spans generations.
