This Is How I Quit Vaping (A Strategy For Giving Up Nicotine)
For those of you who are addicted to nicotine, you know the struggle is real. You wake up in the morning and the first thing you do is start a pot of coffee and begin ingesting nicotine with your method of choice.
For me, the method was vaping. I LOVE MY VAPE. It’s so enjoyable and relaxing, and no matter what I’m doing it helps me concentrate and be productive. I like my vape so much I even named it. Her name is Rachel.
I named her after Harvey Dent’s girlfriend in “The Dark Knight” so that when I misplace it I can yell “RACHEL!! RAAACHEELLLL!!!” Unfortunately, Rachel and I hit a rough patch and had to go our separate ways. We tried to keep it together for the children, but we just couldn’t reconcile our differences.
Her harsh vapor was making it hard for me to breathe and speak and I realized our relationship had become toxic. So yesterday on my way home from work, I stopped by my buddies place and let him have my sweet Rachel.
He’s had his eyes on her for some time. He thought I didn’t notice, but deep down I knew he had feelings for her. So I did the adult thing and stepped aside. I knew they were perfect for each other. I’m not gonna lie, it’s gonna hurt seeing her with another man, but it’s what’s best for both of us.
I still reach for her every ten minutes or so out of habit, and then I realize she’s gone. It’ll take some time to recover, but I’ll find a way to move on. Anyway, that’s how I quit vaping. It’ll be nice to be able to breathe again, and I’m looking forward to all the money I’ll be saving.
