This Weekend Won’t Be A “Drag” in Princeton
So, what are you doing this weekend? If you’re still trying to decide, here’s an idea for you. The 30th Anniversary Outlaw Grass Drags and Swap Meet is happening in Princeton.
The event is happening on Friday and Saturday. The gates open at 7am both days, but the racing doesn’t start then. On Friday, the racing starts at 4pm and on Saturday the action fires up at 11am.
If you’re not familiar with Grass Drags, which to be honest I wasn’t before yesterday, this event features people racing their snow mobiles on the grass. Different types of snow mobiles, some of which will approach speeds of 150 mph.
I’m sure some snowmobilers got some good practice in this past winter as mild as it was. What, too soon? Sorry, that was a cheap shot from a mild winter lover.
This really sounds like something that must be seen.
While you’re there, check out the snowmobile swap meet that will be on hand both days. They brag that if you need something for your snowmobile, you are likely to find it at this Swap Meet.
This event is organized by the Rum River Trail Association, a non-profit dedicated to the development, maintenance and safety of snowmobile trails in the Rum River Trail System and around the state.
There are four clubs that make up the Rum River Trail Association;
The Mystic Riders from Princeton
St. Francis Sno Ghosts
Grandy Northern Lites
Cambridge Drift Dusters
Tickets for the event are $20 each day for adults, 12 and under get in free. They only accept cash at the gate, but there is an ATM inside the gates once you get inside. Parking is free.
