Adrian Peterson’s 2 Year-Old Son Reported Dead

KSFY in Sioux Falls is reporting that Peterson's 2 yr old son has died from injuries sustained from alleged abuse. The St. Paul Pioneer Press confirmed the relationship earlier today with Adrian's father.

KSFY reports;

...the two year old boy died from injuries sustained during the aggravated assault on Wednesday, October 9^th.  At this time, the victim's name is being withheld out of respect for the family and to give them time to make notification.  His name will be released early next week. The Lincoln County State's Attorney's Office will be reviewing police reports for consideration of additional charges.

 

Sioux Falls Police say they responded with EMS to a call for a medical emergency Wednesday night at an apartment in the 6200 block of South Connie Avenue.  When they arrived, they found a child who was not breathing and rushed the child to an area hospital. At the time of the incident, the child was being watched by Joseph Robert Patterson, 27.  Police say no one else was in the home at the time.  Patterson is the boyfriend of the child's mother. While at the hospital and during treatment, police learned the child had injuries that were consistent with abuse.

Patterson is being held on a $750,000 bond. At the time of this article, the Vikings star performer had yet to respond formally, but he did respond to fans, other NFL stars and officials on Twitter.
