With 51% of the sun blocked by the moon early this evening, you will definitely notice the dimming of light here in Central Minnesota. The partial solar eclipse will begin at 4:22 PM, peaking at 5:35. Sunset is at 6:31 PM. Don't look directly at the sun (ever), it can damage your eyes.
Early Wednesday morning the Earth will pass through the Moon's shadow creating another rare full lunar eclipse; visible right here in Minnesota. This will be the second lunar eclipse of 2014. The event will begin at 4:15 AM CT, and end around 7:30 AM CT.
