Dear Baxter, My Sister Stinks

Dear Baxter,

My sister doesn’t launder her clothes often enough and after holding my tongue for months, I finally had to speak out. I said as politely as I could, “I love you, but you kinda stink.” Now she hasn’t spoken to me in weeks. I was only trying to help her! I mean really, who else is going tell you something you really need to hear? Should I have just kept my mouth shut?

You did the right thing.  I suspect she is more embarrassed than angry.  I thought I was being nice once, when I complimented a friend on their mustache and she hasn't spoken to me in months.  Honesty can be a touchy thing.
