Is this a Mick Jagger side project or are the Rolling Stones on hiatus?

According to RollingStone.com, Mick has teamed up with Eurythimics co-founder Dave Stewart, singer Joss Stone, Bob Marley's son Damian and composer A.R. Rahman to form a super group called Super Heavy.

It all began two years ago when Stewart called Mick from his house in Jamaica with the idea of recording together. From there, they assembled Marley, Stone and Rahman in an L.A. studio. The five have been working together for about a year and a half to create music with global influences, hence the wildly different genres these musicians come from.

This marks the first time in a half century that Mick has joined a new band. When asked if he would be touring with the Rolling Stones, all Mick had to say was that he would be working on Super Heavy for the near future.
