CAN YOU EAT ICE CREAM IN THE WINTER?

I know we're in the coldest months of the year right now in Minnesota; but since when does that mean we don't celebrate each day with a bowl of ice cream?

Some people think that a big bowl of cold ice cream is something that should only be celebrated in the warm summer months. I ask; what in the world is wrong with you? It was just yesterday that I stepped into my sons room and found a completely empty carton of Rocky Road Ice cream sitting on his desk.  It was just two days ago, that I pulled into a McDonald's drive through to enjoy an ice cream cone.

Yes...it's cold outside...but the temperature outside has nothing to do with the deliciousness of eating ice cream. Sort of like eating chili is a winter sport; something that would never be considered in the dog days of summer. I say...chili....I will enjoy you whenever I feel like it.

NATIONAL EAT ICE CREAM FOR BREAKFAST DAY

But...if you need permission to eat ice cream in the dead of winter, it is now granted. National Eat Ice Cream For Breakfast Day is on the way. We are still a couple weeks out, but you can enjoy any kind of ice cream for breakfast without guilt, on Saturday February 6th, 2021.

THE OFFICIAL RECIPE

This event was created by New Yorkers in the 1960s, so who are we to say it was a bad idea?  They even have their official recipe which is called, "The Breakfast Banana Split."
